The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) recorded a total of RM705 million in potential sales following a Business Matching (BizMatch) session held in conjunction with its Trade & Networking Visit for buyers from the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region. The BizMatch brought together buyers from Turkiye, Egypt and Algeria, representing key oils and fats companies seeking a range of Malaysian palm oil products. Discussions centred on refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm olein in both consumer packs and bulk containers, as well as cooking oil, shortening and specialty fats. The structured business engagements provided Malaysian suppliers with direct access to MENA importers, enabling in-depth discussions on product requirements, pricing considerations and long-term supply opportunities. The strong commercial interest translated into substantial potential sales, underscoring the region’s growing demand for competitively priced and versatile palm-based products. Beyond immediate trade prospects, the session also strengthened industry linkages and enhanced buyer understanding of Malaysia’s palm oil supply chain. The positive response from participating companies highlighted the effectiveness of the BizMatch platform in creating tangible export opportunities and supporting Malaysian palm oil’s continued expansion into the MENA market.
