The Business Matching (BizMatch) session held in conjunction with the Malaysian Palm Oil Forum (MPOF) Kuala Lumpur 2024 took place on 9 October 2024 at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. The session served as a dedicated platform for structured business engagements between Malaysian palm oil suppliers and international buyers. More than 100 buyers from 30 countries participated, representing key players in the oils & fats and food industries across Asia Pacific, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. A total of 24 Malaysian suppliers took part, engaging in direct discussions with delegates to explore trade opportunities and strengthen market presence in both established and emerging regions. Strongest buyer interest was recorded from the African region, followed by Asia Pacific, the Middle East, India and Central Asia. The enquiries were largely focused on core products such as palm olein and palm stearin, as well as downstream products including shortening, cocoa butter substitutes (CBS) and palm kernel oil. The BizMatch sessions generated an estimated RM1.24 billion in potential sales, reflecting significant commercial interest and reinforcing global demand for Malaysian palm oil across diverse applications.
